Now I'm picturing a Slytherin Tommy who is shunned by the rest of his house, sitting alone during lunch until the day Gryffindor Adam calls him over. "Aren't you fucking bored? They're not talking to you anyway."

So Thomas Malfoy comes over and sits at the new table Adam had made full of people from different houses. And sits. And after a week or so, he starts talking in two-word sentences.

...And then after he warms up, they realize that he's in Slytherin because he's got a devious imagination and cleverness that he mostly hides.

Right, Tommy has the blond Malfoy hair (natural, thank you), but he dyes the roots black sometimes with a hair changing spell one of the girls taught him. It's kind of a private "screw you" to the pureblood ethics.

Let's put everyone in houses!

Adam-Griffindor, Tommy-Sytherin, Isaac-Hufflepuff, Sasha-Griffindor, Cam-Ravenclaw, Monte-Hufflepuff or Griffindor, Terrance-Slytherin, Taylor-Hufflepuff, Brooke-Gryffindor, Neil-Slytherin.

And he does basically anything he can to say "screw you." Shuns various pureblood cultural things in favor of muggle culture, wants to pursue a rock music career...

IDK about Terrance being in Slytherin, but that may be just because my brain tries to team him and Sasha up for mischievous shenanigans. Can definitely see Cam as a Ravenclaw, I think Monte would make a good Gryffindor (and also see him as being older than the others) though Hufflepuff would work, too, Neil was made for Slytherin (and I kind of see him as being outside of the group, and maybe publicly turning his nose up at them but secretly wanting to be part of the group). Also, Alli is totally in there somewhere, probably a Gryffindor (maybe she's the girl who taught Tommy the hair dye spell, too).

I think Adam and Neil are maybe muggleborn or halfblood, Cam maybe a pureblood, Isaac and Monte maybe halfbloods, not sure about any of the others.

(Also, I really need to re-read the books.)

I had one of my HP reference books next to me when I did that so I'd get everyone's names spelled properly.

Adam and Neil are not only halfblood, but American-born. They immigrated to England and got a Muggle education until they came to Hogwarts.

Adam just draws people to him, and because of him there is now a multi-house seat in the dining hall. (Hagrid just made a new table, smaller than the others, and carried it in alone. Adam was very pleased.)

I'd imagine that there are probably some people who don't approve all that much of American-born students at Hogwarts, especially some of Neil's fellow Slytherins. Neil's constantly getting into fights over it, but Adam's like, "Eh, whatever," except on those days when it really gets to him. When things really get to him, it's scary.

Hagrid totally made the table as a surprise. And Adam never expected to become the school's biggest unity advocate--it just happened.

Eber is their American Muggle parent, and Leila is magical with family in the UK. She was in America when the most recent war happened, and waited until it was over to bring the kids when her and Eber divorced. So as a result Adam and Neil still have American accents and a lot of American ways. Neil tries to hide most of his American and Muggle tendencies as he can. Adam could give a shit less.

Adam is not only a major advocate for school unity, but for the arts. He lobbied hard for a drama department and finally gets one late in his fifth year. He loves choir and singing, although his shows can cause...problems.

By his fifth year he's sure he's gay. Hogwarts doesn't have a lot of instutionalized homophobia, but it is very boy/girl centric (you have to bring a girl to the dance, ect.). So Adam never denies but never dates, either. He spends his energy working on his performing, drama, and keeping his friends happy. He's not sure he's ready for that yet.

(He thinks Taylor and Tommy are beautiful.)

Um...*thinks* How does Tommy end up with a guitar (gift, found one discarded, borrowed, bought)? How do the others find out he plays (I'm guessing by accident--maybe Adam or Monte come across him one day, and are like, "Hey, you're good," and even though they've been friends for a while, they've never known)? How long until Adam, Tommy, Monte, Isaac, and Cam end up forming a band?

Tommy likes Muggle rock culture and goes to a lot of shows. He wound up learning to play from the owner of one of the rock pubs he goes to, and eventually he bought the guy's guitar off him. He's invisible there, just another rocker boy, so he likes it.

He hides it at Hogwarts, not trusting his other Slytherins not to destroy it for fun.(he might keep it in the Room of Requirement.) When he finally feels like he can actually trust his new friends, takes the guitar out when it's just him, Monte and Adam ditching curfew.

Well, Cam's been playing piano and keyboards for a long time-her particular pureblood family has cultivated talents in the arts, it's almost expected. Isaac, being halfblood, learned drums from his dad.

I think they make a half-hearted stab at real jobs, but when it becomes time for Adam to either rejoin the Muggle world as a chorus boy or make a band with his friends and become Wizard rock musicians...well. Obviously that's going to win.
